Although the fears that robots and machines would come and replace lawyers may be overblown (so far), it is clear that Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) is already shaping the legal practice. The question remains, however, whether the benefits and efficiencies of using AI outweigh the risks. This session provides insights into the practical, legal, and ethical considerations lawyers should consider before using an AI system. Through this session, attendees will gain an understanding of what these AI systems can – and cannot do – to better assist attorneys in using technology to their advantage while maintaining their ethical obligations in the practice of law.
