SESSION 2 – Explain the impact of the ten-year collection statute on collection alternatives | 10:30am – 11:00am

Examine how the ten-year Collection Statute Expiration Date shapes every resolution decision, including which events toll the period, how remaining time influences strategy, and why CSED analysis often determines the most advantageous alternative for a client.

Break | 11:00am – 11:10am

SESSION 3 – Describe how tax liens work |11:10am – 11:30am

Break down the mechanics of federal tax liens, including how they arise statutorily, when the IRS files a Notice of Federal Tax Lien, the priority and credit consequences for clients, and available withdrawal, discharge, and subordination remedies.

SESSION 4 – Understand the mechanics of a tax levy | 11:30am – 11:50am

Explore how the IRS issues levies against wages, bank accounts, and other property, including required pre-levy notices, Collection Due Process rights, exempt property, and the practical steps practitioners take to secure release of an active levy quickly.

SESSION 5 – Describe what the four collection alternatives are and when to select one over the other | 11:50am – 12:10pm

Compare installment agreements, offers in compromise, currently not collectible status, and partial pay installment agreements, examining the financial criteria, advantages, and drawbacks of each so practitioners can confidently match the right alternative to each client’s situation.
